Top Ten Wrestlemanias Sep 11 - 10:25 pm EDT

10.) Wrestlemania 6

One of the more popular WM's with Hogan vs. Warrior
Doesn't hold up as well as the some of the others
because of a weak undercard consisting of such "gems"
as Roddy Piper vs Bad News Brown and Hart Foundation
vs the Bolsheviks.

9.) Wrestlemania 16

Not a terrible show by any means. However compared
with other shows in 2000 like Summerslam and Backlash,
it fails to live up to expectations. Memorable matches
include a Tables and Ladders spotfest involving Hardys,
the Dudleys, and Edge/Christian, an IC title match
with Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle vs Chris Jericho, and
a world title fourway with Triple H, Mankind, Big Show,
and the Rock.

8.) Wrestlemania 7

Two good matches make this a good (not spectacular)
show. First there is a well executed speed vs power
match -- Barbarian and Haku vs the Rockers -- and the
Ultimate Warrior's best match ever against Randy
Savage. The main event is just Hulk Hogan vs Sgt.
Slaughter, and unless you're a real Hogan mark,
skip it.

7.) Wrestlemania 12

WM12 is most famous for the Iron Man hour long
Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels main event that fans
either love or find excruciatingly dull but is
definitely worthwhile. Undertaker vs Diesel is
also pretty damn good considering who is involved.

6.) Wrestlemania 5

Can't go wrong with WM5. Brain Busters vs
Strike Force, Mr Perfect vs Blue Blazer,
and Hulk Hogan vs Randy Savage are all quite
good. Definitely better than most early
WM's.

5.) Wrestlemania 14

One of the few wrestling PPVs that is watchable
from beginning to end, as nothing really sucks.
Best matches are Triple H vs Owen Hart and Shawn
Michaels vs Stone Cold Steve Austin.

4.) Wrestlemania 3

The first Wrestlemania that was any good is still
one of the best. Rick Steamboat vs Randy Savage
still rules as does the six man tag action
of Bulldogs/Tito Santana vs Hart Foundation/Danny Davis.
Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant is not exciting at all
by today's standards, however for sheer historical
value it is unmatched, drawing a record attendance
of around 90,000 people.

3.) Wrestlemania 8

Like Wrestlemania 10, a mostly crappy show
saved big time by two great matches. Bret Hart
and Roddy Piper have a bloody brawl for
the Intercontentinal title and the Ric Flair
vs Randy Savage world heavyweight title match
is Savage's second best WWF match (topped by
Savage vs Steamboat from Wrestlemania 3).

2.) Wrestlemania 17

I am putting this at #2 _only_ because it is
relatively recent and has nothing definitively
classic. Still easily the best Wrestlemania
over all and has a ton of great wrestling.
Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle, a Tables, Ladders,
and Chairs spot extravaganza, Test vs Eddie
Guerrero, a humorous "Gimmick Battle Royal",
the Rock vs Stone Cold all add up to what is
easily one of the five best WWF PPVs ever.

1.) Wrestlemania 10

What can you say about a show with TWO *****
matches other than that it is #1? Quite possibly
the best WWF show ever. Sure, almost every match
sucks, but when the two good matches are Bret
Hart vs Owen Hart and the earth shattering Shawn
Michaels vs Razor Ramon ladder match, you have
the best Wrestlemania. This show made Owen Hart's
WWF career overnight and helped to cement Bret Hart's
status as a world class contender in the eyes of the
fans.
