Hey yo,

Welcome to the first of many reviews on the WWE by me DRUBACK!!!!! Im one of those fans who is for some reason really digging the WWE at the moment and its future and ill tell you why in a moment. I get really frustrated when I read reviews slaughtering the WWE. I admit it isn’t the same as it was 2 years ago but the product these days still delivers, not amazingly but satisfactory in my eyes. I know that From the Royal Rumble onwards we are in treat to a good solid few months in the WWE. I will give my predictions for the Royal Rumble in a moment but first ….

Last week’s thoughts:

I loved the Raw X show, now I can completely understand why thousands of fans hated it. When I first heard the WWE plug this event several months ago I knew it would be big but when they announced “former stars to return” I really got excited. But then I paused, and remembered the WWE aren’t that good at keeping there word so I didn’t get that excited and I certainly didn’t expect returns from The Rock and Stone Cold. If you put all that aside and look at the show for what it was, which was a cheap way to praise the talent and show some past clips it was a decent show. I loved Kurt Angle getting cut off by his music and I loved the Rock’s promo, now I more than anyone else want him back as a heel but either way im happy because he is that dam good on the mic, and I have missed him.

Moving onto Raw and I was disappointed with the matches but was kept interested with the segments. You see im one of those fans who really enjoys the backstage stuff and on Raw they delivered. I was ecstatic to see Vince back and even more happy to learn that Eric has 30 days to shape up Raw. This should hopefully mean one of two things. Either 1) He will be bringing in some talent hopefully big names or 2) he will be introducing new rules, matches and basically a new feel to Raw. What I personally would like to see is the reintroduction of the IC belt and even the hardcore belt but that would be pushing it!!!!

Smackdown was another solid show which saw the return of Rey Mysterio and the return to the ring of Kurt Angle. I was as upset as all of you were when I learned that Al has passed on, well hopefully he will be entertaining them all up in heaven with his moving voice. The main event on smackdown was excellent and im really looking forward to Angle Vs Benoit this Sunday, oh speaking of Sunday ……….

Royal Rumble predictions:

Oh im looking forward to the PPV later today. My main reason is Im interested to see if the WWE will go with the obvious and have Brock win. Now as much as I would love to see him win there is also an alternative which is to have him eliminated by either members of Team Angle or an angry Big Show who runs down and eliminates Brock because he beat him earlier on. This would in turn cause Stephanie to allow Brock to be in a number 1 contender’s match at No Way Out and win to face Angle. Just one thought.

The other is to have Shawn and Jericho start and also be the last two in the ring. This would spice up the rumble as already it’s a bit of a letdown as there are only 60 second intervals. Then Jericho could win the rumble and therefore get his much needed push again.

Or just go with the obvious and have Brock win and then feud with Angle for the next 2 months. I think I would go with this one if I was a betting man.

My other thoughts for the PPV is to have HHH win. Now I would love someone new to win the belt but if Steiner wins then he would have to drop it next month because there is no way he can be in the main event at Mania. It also would mean December, January and February having title changes, something that just won’t happen.

As far as the Undertaker is concerned when he returns later there are talks that he will return as he did when he left a few months ago as the ‘American Badass’, I along with a majority of fans will be extremely disappointed. The undertaker needs to return as a heel and he needs to return as the Dead man once more before he retires. Anything else just wont be acceptable.

Overall I will expect this PPV to be a fairly solid show which will hopefully set up some new feuds and continue some existing ones(I don’t mean Dawn Marie and Torrie Wilson!!!!)

Im also interested to see if the WWE will tease us in the rumble and have Jeff/ Matt, Batista/Brock, Kane/Taker and even Edge/Christian face each other. This is something which makes the whole match that bit more interesting.

Ill be back later this week with my thoughts on the PPV and hopefully an interesting Raw and Smackdown.
