The Strip Down Tapping Out Jul 19 - 09:08 pm EDT

To reflect my radio show Tap Out, I am changing the name of the column to Tapping Out.
This past week saw a renaissance in Smackdown, as I said on the radio show, it was a great show. Everything seemed to go along greatly.
The opening promo with Cena, Booker T, Rene Dupre and Suzuki?
Booker translating that Suzuki meant that Booker should be the champ. That was funny. Then Cena going in back to confront Angle and tossing Reigns through the wall. Then on to the matches, what were The Dudley Boys doing coming out to help Spike?
And Paul Heyman bringing John Heidenreich back to action on Smackdown soon? Could he be the next big thing?
Then the cage match with Eddie going off the top onto JBL, that SHOULD have ended the match. But the ending was good with Angle being revealed as El Grande Luchador.
The Divas Special was a challenge but a mindless way to spend an hour, Edge it appears is turning. If you saw the special you would have seen how he talked to some of the girls and just the way he handled himself.
How about a double turn? Randy Orton and Edge in the same match? We have not seen a double turn during a match since Hogan and Flair did it a few years ago in WCW.
OR maybe the Hogan/Rock match. But the fans were already turning on The Rock to begin with.
Raw was slowed down by the need to plug the Divas show, the one chick was blasted by the fans.
TNA seems to be moving along with Impact greatly, I have a feeling they are losing buyers to their PPVs due to the Impact show. Many have said that hour of Impact is better than the two hours of TNA on PPV.
ROH signed Mick FOley to their 9/11 show, that is a statement that ROH is going to be making noise in this business yet.
I sense a turnaround slowly coming to wrestling. TNA could lead it with Impact and force WWE to be more original with its shows. If the TNA PPV were on TV say on USA, it would be a whole new ballgame in wrestling.
By the way, Wrestlingdb has agreed to archive Tap Out. Its a lively show hosted by fans not experts or knowitalls like most of the other shows are.
Until next time,
Keep It Real!!
