Well,its Monday today and that means 2 days has passed since the redebut of Saturday Nights Main Event. If you ask any fan with half a brain they would tell you this show had to deliver in a big way for WWE, it had to, no ands if's or but's about it, It had to deliver not only a good show but a solid rating and it didnt deliver either.
What started off so promising with the blast from the past promos over music to open the show, Its nice seeing some nostalgia brought in every now and then and i think the opening to Saturday Nights Main Event certainly suceeded in doing that, end in such a ridiculous rehash. Its 1997 all over again apparently but this time Vince didnt screw Bret, He didnt even screw HBK, he didnt even Screw the fans, This time Vince screwed himself.
Saturday Nights Main Event for lack of better words was quite simply the Mcmahon-athon. From Vince and Shane opening the show, To the loooong vignette about Vince Mcmahon during the show to the end where Vince Mcmahon screws HBK, It was obvious Saturday Nights Main Event was all about the Mcmahons. No rvd, no carlito(except backstage talking to Teddy Long), No Shelton Benjamin, No Bobby Lashley yet we are treated to about 35 mins of Mcmahon. LOL btw at HHH being the first one out that night... yeah what a shocker. what A Fuckin shocker.
The fans(who made you btw) are booing the shit out of your paper champion Cena, Popping when the supposed heel or bad guy HHH pedigrees his ass yet u still are gonna push Cena as the face and HHH as the heel. Unreal. How does that make sense business wise? HHH PEDIGREED CENA AND TURNED FACE ON THE MAIN EVENT.
It doesnt matter what you do WWE, people will never accept Cena as champion, you could put him in there with JBL and people would probably cheer for JBL. Turn him heel tho and hmm maybe Ratings go up, Funny how Edge mentions he was the Most watched champ in the last 5 years. Is it me or anyone else think thats WWE's way of saying "FUCK YOU" to the fans?
The ratings arent in yet but rumors have them barely doing a 3.0 when it was expected to be a 5.0 by WWE. a 5.0? are you kidding me? lol umm you guys constantly tell your fans they are shit, you constantly ignore logic and fan reaction yet u expect people to watch? Oh the NCAA tournament is on you say... BIG FUCKIN DEAL i say, Its an excuse and not a good one.
How do you cure what ails the WWE? u dont. I think its too late. They had their chance with Edge as champ and YOU FUCKED IT UP VINCE. People can only take so much, you give them something new,refreshing,exciting like a champ not named Cena or HHH and It catches on so WWE pulls the plug. I dont know what it is, but the WWE of today doesnt even closely resemble the WWF that i was a fan of back in the attitude era. i say back in that era, because thats where the attitude era should stay.. in the past. Its time and Now for WWE to look to the future.. whats the future? well its not HHH or a Mcmahon Soap opera, Why dont we go back to the future to get the answer? ummm the answer is WRESTLING. ITS TIME FOR THE ERA OF WRESTLING TO HIT THE WWE, UNTIL THEN, its downhill folks and QUICK, Dont beleive me? ASK NBC.
