Due to my cable being out I missed yesterdays show so I am reposting some
results done by a friend Brian Tramel. I am adding last week's show as well.
Memphis Wrestling TV Show 5.27.06
----Show opened with Cory Maclin and Jimmy Hart in the ring with chairs & TV
to promote
the "Clash of Legends III" show. Something kept flying out of Maclin's
mouth as he
talked..LOL Nice set though to talk about the upcoming shows.
----They ran an angle where Jerry Lawler was in the control room of the TV
show and
"directed" it during the whole hour. Hart/Maclin were live today and Lawler
was probably
on the road. It was done real well. Lawler used one of old corny jokes,
but it was it
funny.."Cory, you got the perfect face for radio.." They went to break with
Cory telling
everyone that we were going to watch "a dandy of a show" today. LOL Only
in
Memphis!!
----Jimmy Hart was promoting his energy drink. He said starting as of June
1st the drink
can be bought in all Circle K convenience stores. My research found that
there are
approximately 2,100 Circle K locations across the USA. There are also over
4,000 Circle
K locations across the globe including Japan, Mexico, China, Guam, and other
countries. This should be good money for Hart.
----Legends listed to appear on June 16 in Jackson, TN @ Oman Arena and
June 17 @
Southaven Arena .Buddy Wayne Peale.Jackie Fargo."Nightmare" Ken Wayne!!!!
[big Nightmare mark!!].Rock n Roll Express.Phil Hickerson.Midnight Express
[Dennis
Coundry/Bobby Eaton].Tommy Rich.Doug Gilbert.Jimmy Valiant.Downtown
Bruno.Bruise Brothers.Sputnik Monroe.Dr. Ken Ramey..The Interns.Koko
Ware.Lance Russell.Dave Brown.Jimmy Hart.Dutch Mantell..and they are
promoting a Battle Royal with the winner receiving a $25,000 Rolex watch.
----Koko Ware video aired from 1985 with Koko winning the Mid-America Title
from Bota
the Witch Doctor and Koko doing the "bird". Did you know Koko made that
popular
before going to the WWF---coming out with the Morris Day song and dance "The
Bird"
from the Prince movie "Purple Rain"??? They next aired a Koko Ware vs. The
Spoiler
[Frank Morrell] bout from Memphis TV. Koko looked good. Tom Pritchard
jumped in and
then Lawler made the save.
----Lance Russell interview via phone was next. He did an excellent job
promoting the
show talking about all the legends.
----A video of package of Lawler clips followed-Lawler piledriving Andy
Kaufman;
Lawler/Hart singing with Jimmy Valiant jumping them smashing a guitar over
Lawler's
head [great angle-Valiant was a great heel in Memphis]; Lawler with a broken
leg in the
hospital [ref Jerry Calhoun broke it in a football game]; and the infamous
Hart "You Shoot
Him" interview.
----Lawler then aired a few Cory Maclin clips which were funny.
----Lawler then did an interview from the control room "out of character"
promoting the
show. It was a very good segment. It made you want to go to the shows.
----Comments from area people about the legends show---Southhaven major;
WDIA
radio personalities in Memphis and FM 100 radio
personalities-Ron/Steve/Karen---they
were really funny. They were at the Memphis zoo in front of the polar bears
swimming
underwater in glass. Ron said it was Lawler's house..LOL Then Steve drank
some
Jimmy Hart energy drink and started acting like Hart. Finally, Judge Joe
Brown did a plug
for the show. Very well done segment.
----TV Match with Rock n Roll Express beating Lou Winston/Donald Donovan.
Morton
was such a good worker even when they first started. Tons of charisma.
----Show ended with a phone interview from "Fabulous" Jackie Fargo.
----Final notes: Good way to promote the show. The only compliant I have
is that there
should have been more matches shown.
MEMPHIS WRESTLING TV REPORT June 3, 2006
----Show opened with Cory Maclin and Jimmy Hart in the ring with chairs & TV
to promote
the "Clash of Legends III" show - same set as last week. They ended the
show with an
interview with Jackie Fargo last week and started this week with the same.
I am assuming
this show was taped with last week's show. Hart said that Fargo sounded
like he was
drunk-I agree with you Jimmy!! LOL
----To promote the Battle Royal [winner takes home a $25,000 Rolex watch
donated by a
local jewelry store] at "Class of Legends III" they aired a clip of a battle
royal from "Clash
of Legends I" from 2001. The interesting bit was in the ring were all the
deceased
wrestlers - Curt Henning; Moondog Spot and Billy Travis.
----Jimmy Cornette interview via phone was next. Very funny interview with
Corny
promoting a "Midnight Express" [Dennis Condrey/Bobby Eaton] vs. "Rock 'n'Express]
[Ricky Morton/Robert Gibson] match for COLIII. Corny talked about his knee
surgery
also and said something about his PCL being attached to his taint..LOL
Corny did a
great job.
----Old clip of Jerry Lawler vs. King Kong Bundy with Jimmy Hart - $10,000
Challenge
Match - Lawler wins $1,000 for every minute he lasts with Bundy. This was
almost totally
Bundy putting heat on Lawler [typical old school Lawler bout]. Lawler made
the
comeback after a missed splash pulling down his strap. Rick Rude came
running out.
Bundy got a chain and hit Lawler for the win with a 5-count.
----Commercial aired for the "Nightmare" Ken Wayne School of wrestling.
Check it out--

----Jerry Lawler & Jim Ross interview promoting "Clash of Legends III".
Lawler was trying
to give Ross money to take Maclin's place as the Memphis announcer. Ross
talked
about Mid-South feud of Midnight vs. R'n'R. Ross also talked about Sputnik
Monroe vs.
Danny Hodge feud in Oklahoma. Good interview.
----Legends listed to appear on June 16 in Jackson, TN @ Oman Arena and
June 17 @
Southaven Arena .Buddy Wayne Peale.Jackie Fargo."Nightmare" Ken Wayne!!!!
[big Nightmare mark!!].Rock n Roll Express.Phil Hickerson.Midnight Express
[Dennis
Coundry/Bobby Eaton].Tommy Rich.Doug Gilbert.Jimmy Valiant.Downtown
Bruno.Bruise Brothers.Sputnik Monroe.Dr. Ken Ramey..The Interns.Koko
Ware.Lance Russell.Dave Brown.Jimmy Hart.Dutch Mantell.and more
----Classic Memphis match with Dutch Mantell vs. Rick Rude with Angel/Jimmy
Hart.
Mantell made his comeback and Angel then try to interfere. Mantell pulled
her in the ring
and then Rude hit him from behind. Rude pinned Mantell after a suplex.
----Dutch Mantell interview via phone. Mantell talked about "shoebaby" his
bullwhip.
Promoted the "Legends" show and had nothing but good things to say about
Jimmy Hart.
----Local business promoting "Clash of the Legends III" show including the
"Judge" Joe
Brown interview again.
----Maclin and Hart finished the show just talking and promoting the card
again. They did
good job in promoting the shows again this week.
