Smackdown scored a 3.0 rating last night, down from last week's 3.4, with part of the drop due to a preemption in New York City. Even with the ratings slightly down, UPN finished in fourth place between 8-10pm. Some future house show cards may reflect possible storyline developments, unless WWE changes their mind as frequently happens. WWE is also promoting their next Madison Square Garden Smackdown house show with a four way match of Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker vs. Big Show. Sunday's Confidential will feature footage of Terri, Ivory and APA's recent trip to Kuwait to visit our soldiers.

Chuck Palumbo may have been sent down to OVW due to contract negotiations not going well. In his latest journal entry, Mick Foley says he's considering wrestling at Wrestlemania XX if Vince is willing to promote it right. Former WWE announcer Craig DeGeorge now has a job with Fox Sports Net on the Florida Panthers Telecast Team. A new study says sexy and violent television shows reduce advertising brand recall, which might not be good for WWE. The study even included wrestling, a mistaken hybrid of WWE and WCW: "World Wrestling Federation Monday Night Nitro."

Jeremy Borash is back with his latest Notes from the Inside. Dusty Rhodes will return Wednesday to team with America's Most Wanted against Gilberti/Diamond/Swinger. Raven vs. Shane Douglas will also take place Wednesday, and they'll announce the status of the X Division title. The first TNA Super X Cup Tournament will take place September 3. Danny Doring suffered a stinger in his match but was okay after the show. Borash discusses Swartzenegger, Ventura, and Coleman, plus he tells a story about Curt Hennig and another about indy shows.

IGN has a hands on review of Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain to follow up their earlier game preview. TotalVideoGames.com has some images from Eidos' Backyard Wrestling due out in October.

Japanese wrestler Takayuki "Giant Ochiai" Okada died after several days in a coma brought on by a training accident. SLAM's Jason Clevett's third on the road diary entry has him catching up with Canadian wrestler Apocalypse.
