There are Smackdown spoilers from last night in Detroit, MI, plus a few mildly spoilery backstage notes. A sports writer at the Dallas-Ft. Worth Star-Telegram ran into the McMahons checking in to their hotel Monday night in Detroit and noted he found it odd they were staying in the same hotel as a group of Franciscan nuns. WWE is advertising various championship matches with Triple H for upcoming house shows because he is the current champion, and the card is subject to change if he drops the title at Summerslam. Byte This will be on hiatus until September 4 when Stacy Keibler is scheduled as guest.

IGN is doing a wrestler countdown for Smackdown!: Here Comes The Pain's debut, with A-Train and Batista first, but they also have some sad news: Warrior is out as negotiations weren't finalized when they initially announced him. SLAM has an article on the unknown WWE trainer (and Rock's dad) Rocky Johnson. WWE will hold a first quarter earning conference call on August 26. WWE is increasing its international coverage, with PPV deals in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.

Amazing Red suffered a knee injury yesterday in his All Japan Pro Wrestling match, which will force him out of the ring for an indefinite period of time. Ring of Honor changed the location for the September 6 show to Charbonneau Field House (Wakefield, MA).

Percy "Paul Bearer" Pringle is quite upset with WWE's current product and says WWE is "dying a slow agonizing death." Hulk Hogan was on Bubba the Love Sponge's radio show this morning discussing Kevin Nash's movie role, plus his small cameo, in Punisher.

SLAM has a piece on the Freebirds and Kevin Von Erich appearing at Wrestlecon, as well as some of the other events at the convention. The director of documentary The Backyard Paul Hough will be at the Fan Slam convention.

That's it for today. Thanks for reading.
