Smackdown was the n#1 program on UPN last week, finishing at #81 overall. There are off-air notes and Heat spoilers from last night's RAW. Thursday's Smackdown was taped in Uncasville, CT tonight.
1wrestling has notes on the backstage meeting prior to RAW, as well as Goldberg's future with the company and a potential spoiler. WWE scored a legal victory in the Federal Court of Canada which issued an injunction against Canadian bars illegally showing WWE PPVs, and ordered the bars to pay treble monetary damages and court costs. WWE will hold a series of autograph signings in New York City in the week leading up to Wrestlemania, as well as an evening reception the night before and a "Bacon, Bagels and Biceps" brunch the morning of the event, with tickets on sale for both early next month.
Stacy Keibler was a guest on Fox and Friends this morning to promote Royal Rumble and the Originals CD, but also discussed her background, her legs, and Wrestlemania. Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Trish Stratus and Lillian Garcia all signed autographs after last night's RAW at a special Tower Records midnight sale of WWE Originals. Blabbermouth is reporting that Chris Jericho's Fozzy will cover KISS' "King of the Nighttime World" for a KISS tribute album, and they'll return to the studio on February 17 to work on their third album.
The Navy Newsstand has a picture of Kurt Angle signing autographs while aboard the USS Enterprise last month. WWE posted new photos of Dawn Marie and Trish Stratus. Big Show taped Hollywood Squares last weekend.
WWE's recent developmental signee Melina Perez was also a semi-finalist for Tough Enough 3. Although Hurricane's reportedly been prohibited from using the chokeslam in his matches, you can still use it as a finisher while playing him in Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain. There are more easter eggs on the new Mick Foley DVD. The Royal Rumble DVD will be released on February 24.
Tomorrow night's NWA TNA PPV will feature AJ Styles/Erik Watts vs. Jeff Jarrett/Abyss, Low Ki vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Michael Shane, America's Most Wanted vs. Red Shirt Security, Raven/Sandman vs. The Gathering, Simon Diamond vs. David Young, Shane Douglas vs. Elix Skipper, plus Jeff Jarrett's big news and an announcement by AAA owner Antonio Pena.
Alan Wojcik interviewed Low Ki about his training with Homicide, his name, NWA TNA and working in Japan. Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian were guests on Interactive Interview, with Sabin discussing X2, his start in wrestling, and WWA, while Kazarian discussed returning to Zero-One, Nova, WWE and the original Ultimate X match. NWA TNA is creating an online trivia game, and is asking fans to send in trivia questions for possible inclusion.
New episodes of MLW Underground TV will begin on Sunshine Network on Friday night, and on WGTW in Philadelphia, PA on Monday. Mike Johnson has several notes on Ring of Honor, including their happiness with the Wilmington, OH event on Saturday, Jim Cornette's scheduled appearance at the January 29 Glen Burnie, MD event and plans for faster video/DVD releases. Casey Rega, an Atlanta, GA area high school senior is turning down college football offers so he pursue professional wrestling after graduation.
