There are Heat spoilers and off air RAW notes plus post RAW celebration notes from last night's RAW in Hershey, PA. The Smackdown crew was in Reading, PA last night with Eddy Guerrero/Rey Mysterio Jr. over Chavo Guerrero Jr./Kurt Angle. Smackdown was taped in Washington, DC tonight. Matt Morgan took a bad bump off the ring apron in his match last night and was stretchered away and taken to a hospital. Morgan has since been released from the hospital with the likely cause a stinger and he probably won't need time off from the ring. John Cena underwent a precautionary leg exam after his Rumble landing, but it apparently showed no significant damage.
WWE.com has an article on Chris Benoit's Royal Rumble win and how difficult it is to work over an hour in such a match. William Regal spoke to WWE.com as he approaches the one year anniversary of his last match about the state of his health and when he hopes to return to the ring. Paul London and Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, from MTV's Real World, will be the guests on Thursday's Byte This! At the latest pre-Smackdown meeting, Brock Lesnar reportedly promised not to kill anyone over internet leaks, and apologized for getting emotional last week.
Kurt Angle, Bradshaw, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin represented WWE's Smackdown Your Vote today at a Capitol Hill get-together sponsored by the Congressional Youth Civic Caucas to discuss their work getting young Americans to vote. WWE Smackdown Your Vote, along with MTV's Choose or Lose, Hip Hop Summit Action Network, Rock The Vote, Youth Vote Coalition and the League of Women Voters, will issue a national voter issue paper for 18-30 year olds on Monday, February 2 at the National Press Club. SLAM has two reviews of WWE Originals, one by John Powell and the other by Jason Clevett, and neither could be called positive.
Bob Costas was a guest on the Mike and Mad Dog show on WFAN 660 AM in New York and mentioned running into Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at a Florida restaurant. Vince and Costas then shared a laugh over Vince's contentious appearance on his HBO show a couple years ago. Bill Goldberg will be in Wes Sims' corner this Saturday at UFC 46 in Las Vegas, NV. Goldberg's new horror/comedy movie Santa's Slay starts production at the end of this month, and will film in Alberta in late February.
The Toronto Star Allen Carnill was killed in a car accident Sunday morning near Hays, KS when the car he was riding in went out of control on a patch of black ice. Afa Anoai's WXW has been forced out of the building they perform and train in due to a dispute with the building's new owner and building code violations.
NWA TNA announced that they're taking names for their new TNA Academy training program at the TNA Asylum. Tomorrow night's NWA TNA PPV will feature Erik Watts vs Don Callis, Chris Sabin vs. Michael Shane for the X Division championship, 3 Live Kru vs. Redshirt Security for the NWA World Tag Team Championship, D'Lo Brown vs Abyss, plus Johnny Fairplay, Insane Clown Posse and more.
Pro Wrestling WORLD-1 issued a final press release for their debut weekend February 6-8 in Pottstown, PA, Philadelphia, PA and Fall River, MA. World Wrestling Zone will present a Hawk tribute show on April 24 in Bridgeview, IL. Dark Horse Comics' new 3 issue miniseries "El Zombo" tells the story of a pro wrestling champion who gets a second shot at life as a guardian angel after being murdered for refusing to job. Hulk Hogan will serve as grand marshall for the Florida Dodge Dealers 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on February 13. Hogan's daughter Brooke will also perform the national anthem. The FCC has proposed fining Clear Channel Communications $715,000 for airing sexually explicit episodes of Bubba The Love Sponge's show, a show on which Hulk Hogan regularly appears. Joey Styles and Bob Ryder issued a statement about 1wrestling's staff changes which include Dave Scherer and Buck Woodward leaving for PWInsider.com.
