Smackdown scored a 3.1 rating, down from 3.4 last week. Smackdown's ratings may have been hurt by FOX's Image Awards which bumped UPN to fifth place ahead of WB. Tomorrow night's Confidential will feature the history of Rock and Sock and lots of Wrestlemania media appearances.

Mike Morris on Minneapolis' KFAN announced that Brock Lesnar would on his show on Monday. The Minnesota Vikings say they're not interested in Brock Lesnar, and it seems many believe this is just an angle for more Wrestlemania publicity. Jim Ross was interviewed by the Wrestling Guys radio show on Wednesday night and discussed Brock Lesnar, Steve Austin, and changes to WWE wrestling style.

WWE issued press releases for the Hall of Fame and Wrestlemania, both inviting the media to attend. The New York Daily News has a preview of Wrestlemania with a focus on Triple H. The Howard University Hilltop has an article on Wrestlemania and the Hall of Fame. Wrestlemania was mentioned twice in this week's Entertainment Weekly.

The McMahon family, including Triple H, rang the opening bell for the New York Stock Exchange this morning. Vince and Linda McMahon were on CNBC's Squawk Box discussing Wrestlemania, WWE's tough times, steroids, and other business topics. WWE announced plans to run two PPVs in June and October, with the October PPV on a Tuesday.

The Rock appeared on the Tonight Show to promote his new movie Walking Tall, but made no mention of his Wrestlemania match. The Rock was also show on French TV in a taped interview in which he did promote Wrestlemania, which isn't available in that country. Bradshaw appeared on Fox and Friends this morning to promote his appearance on Cashin' In tomorrow, and Wrestlemania Sunday. Kurt Angle and Victoria also appeared on Fox News Live this morning to promote their Wrestlemania matches.

Shelton Benjamin won the THQ Smackdown Video Game Tournament last night at Planet Hollywood in New York City by defeating Kane in the finals. 1up has a preview of WWE Day of Reckoning for the GameCube, due out in September. WWE Originals dropped to #156 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. KISS tribute album Spin The Bottle with Chris Jericho and Fozzy covering King of the Night Time World will be released April 27.

MTV had Method Man interview John Cena about hip-hop, rap, and plans for his CD. The Merrimack River Current has an article on John Cena discussing being home, injuries, censorship, and Wrestlemania. North Shore Sunday has a list of their almost famous, including Prince Albert. Guess they missed his name change since they also think he's a former professional wrestler.

Eddy Guerrero had about a thousand people for his autogragh signing today in New York City. Steve Austin and Billy Gunn reportedly had an altercation at their hotel bar. Maven is scheduled to return to the RAW brand next week.

USA Today ran a multipart story on problems in professional wrestling, with a focus on steroids and drugs including the high death rate, with profiles of some of the more high profile deaths in the past few years. Wade Keller and Dave Scherer both wrote criticisms of the report.

Bobby Heenan was on ESPN 2's Cold Pizza this morning discussing Wrestlemania, the Hall of Fame, and his new book. Bret Hart lost a workman's compensation claim in Washington, DC where he suffered a career ending injury being kicked in the head by Goldberg, but it was ruled he didn't legally work in DC.

TNA launched a new Wrestling Reinvented ad campaign, and a shift in the promotion to more family friendly content. FANSLAM's Tribute to Wrestlemania 1 convention is tomorrow in Totowa, NJ. Ring of Honor is holding a big show tomorrow at the RexPlex in Elizabeth, NJ.

The Chester Chronicle has an article on April Hunter and her transition from model to wrestler. The Philadelphia Daily News ran a piece on Billy Reil's crimefighting. Head Shrinker Samu provided an update on his father Afa and WXW as they approach their 100th episode of WXW Rage TV. Charity biker Thomas Beasley lists recieving a ticket to RAW from Vince McMahon as one of the perks of his work.
