Smackdown was taped in Long Island, NY tonight, and there are already Velocity and Smackdown spoilers. Chris Candido was scheduled for a dark match but was apparently replaced by Funaki. Smackdown was the #1 show on UPN last week finishing at #63 overall. Smackdown will be pre-empted in Philadelphia, PA and will air Saturday at 5pm instead.

There are off air notes and Heat spoilers The top rope broke during the Dudleys vs. Rico/Charlie Haas match in Pesaro, Italy, but the teams were able to adapt and finish the match early.

Earlier today, WWE.com posted a statement apologizing for John "Bradshaw" Layfield's actions in Munich, Germany, and saying he'd been reprimanded. About two hours later, though, WWE.com removed the statement for unknown reasons. CNBC fired John "Bradshaw" Layfield after investigating the incident saying his behavior was "offensive, inappropriate and not befitting anyone associated with our network." Alex Marvez' story about the incident and firing was picked up by a number of newspapers. Bradshaw was reportedly heard backstage saying he did it because he's a bad guy. Some of Bradshaw's peers are upset over the incident and others say although he's not racist in real life, they're happy to see him get in trouble (schadenfreude).

WWE.com has an article on Christian's first WWE career injury, pinched nerves in his lower back, which is forcing him to take a couple months off from wrestling for physical therapy to prevent further injury and the need for surgery. Chris Benoit and Christian will be the guests on Thursday's Byte This! with Tommy Dreamer as guest host. WWE has increased the PPV webcast stream bitrate to 500K, but it's accompanied by a price increase from $17.95 to $34.95, making it the same cost as the television PPV. WWE is now looking for an Administrative Assistant for their corporate headquarters.

Torrie Wilson has reportedly been rubbing others the wrong way since her Playboy appearance, but management likes Mordecai and his work thus far. Victoria will stop dancing due to negative reactions to her new entrance, and WWE wrestlers are unhappy with a new dress code. In G4techTV's G-Phoria Awards, Stacy Kiebler is nominated for hottest game character in Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain, which is itself nominated for best alternative sports game.

Tomorrow night's NWA TNA PPV will feature Jeff Jarrett, Frankie Kazarian vs. AJ Styles, America's Most Wanted vs. ?, Jerry Lynn/Hector Garza/Heavy Metal vs. Team Canada, Chris Sabin vs. Michael Shane, and Sonjay Dutt vs. D-Ray 3000 vs. Sharkboy vs. David Young. NWA TNA is now offering AJ Styles vs. Amazing Red at their TNA on Demand webcast match of the week. Some NWA TNA wrestlers were upset the ring girls were flown to Orlando for Impact when the company could have saved money by hiring local talent. Some TNA wrestlers also don't think Stephanie Bellars will last long.

ESPN News' post-Stanley Cup finals coverage last night included Hulk Hogan and Brian Knobs celebrating with the Tampa Bay Lightning players. Player Andre Roy found time to pose for pictures with Hulk Hogan during the post-game celebration. Brooke Hogan sang the national anthem before the game as she did throughout the playoffs.

Pro Wrestling Iron will hold their first TV taping on Friday in San Leandro, CA with international talent including Mitsuharu Misawa and Yoshinari Ogawa. Harley Race, Les Thatcher and Yoshinari Ogawa will hold a training camp from August 9-13 in Eldon, MO.

The next Wrestling Reunion will take place on July 10 in Cartaret, NJ. Dave Meltzer's book Tributes 2: Remembering More of the World's Great Wrestlers will be released soon.

The Minnesota Vikings have scheduled a Friday workout for Brock Lesnar at Winter Park. Stan "Krusher" Kowalski will be a Grand Marshall for the Spring Lake Park Tower Days parade. The Japanese Justice Ministry rejected an application by TV personality Aki Mukai and her husband wrestler Nobuhiko Takada to register their twin babies born by a surrogate mother as their sons, although the government said they'd grand the babies Japanese citizenship if they're formally adopted.
