Eugene and William Regal did an autograph signing in Poughkeepsie, NY yesterday and kept the fans entertained as they waited. Northeastern Pennsylvania's Times-Leader has an article on Triple H to promote tonight's show in Wilkes Barre, PA covering his wrestling career, his book, New Year's Revolution and more. Vince McMahon made Sports Illustrated's Who's Hot list for taking Smackdown to Iraq.
Carlito Carribean Cool is not expected to appear at New Year's Revolution despite advertisements promoting an appearance. Trish Stratus was featured in Puerto Rico's Primera Hora to promote Sunday's PPV. Kurt Angle and Stacy Keibler are headed to Japan to do publicity for the February RAW and Smackdown tapings.
WWE's latest key performance indicators (PDF) show Armaggedon doing a buyrate of about 235,000, down from Survivor Series but way up from Taboo Tuesday and No Mercy. Cubed3 has a review of WWE Survivor Series for the Gameboy Advance. Female indie wrestler Christie Ricci has reportedly not signed a WWE deal at this time.
Paul Heyman's Smackdown return is apparently a one-time only appearance. ECW: Extreme Evolution on VHS is available from Overstock.com for $1. The Sandman reportedly turned down a WWE invitation to an ECW Reunion PPV.
TNA's Bill Behrens met with WWE today about NWA Wildside possibly becoming a WWE developmental territory. The Torch has a number of other details about WWE's plans to restructure their developmental system. Abyss quit TNA yesterday and may be headed to WWE as his contract with TNA expired, while Johnny Swinger asked for his release and Amazing Red and Sonjay Dutt near the end of their contracts. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are both reportedly happy with TNA and will continue to work with the promotion.
Fox SportsNet added another TNA replay at 2am early Saturday morning in addition to the recently announced Saturday midnight replay. Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic also added the 4pm Friday Impact airing to their schedule. TNA issued a press release for their next PPV Final Resolution on January 16.
Some pro-Ron Niemi/anti-Jonny Fairplay fans attended the Impact tapings last night wearing shirts that expressed their views on the matter. Pro Wrestling Insider interviewed Ring of Honor booker Gabe Sapolsky last night about Ring of Honor's year, booking, the title change, TV and more. Full Impact Pro is running two shows this weekend, on Friday in Lakeland, FL and on Saturday in Tampa, FL, with Homicide, James Gibson (Jamie Noble), Samoa Joe, CM Punk and more.
Michael Strider interviewed Jimmy Garvin about the Wrestle Reunion convention, his website, cooking, and more. There are several Ebay auctions to benefit Sabu and help cover his medical expenses. The Eldridge North Scott Press has an article on their local Scott County Wrestling and some of their wrestlers. Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire will team for a match against Tom Howard and The Predator for UPW's February 23 show. Sting and Gail Kim are scheduled for NWA Mid-Atlantic's South Korean tour from January 19-24.
