WWE issued a statement on allegations made in a recent Sports Illustrated article linking WWE wrestlers to illegal steroids saying it predates their Wellness program which prohibits the use of such drugs. The steroid allegations were mentioned by numerous sports outlets including Jim Rome, Colin Cowherd, Dan Patrick and ESPN. WWE reportedly administered over two dozen Wellness tests today prior to the Smackdown/ECW show. Kenny Dykstra and Mickie James were in Toronto, ON today promoting Wrestlemania. Kenny Dykstra also defended WWE against steroid allegations during his appearance.
