Several new wrestlers have surfaced as patients in the Dr. Astin investigation including Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell, Mark Jindrak, Bobby Holly, and Rey Mysterio Jr. Dr. Astin's attorney Manny Arora appeared on Greta Van Susteren's FOX News show last night explaining Astin's defense, steroid accusations, and his relationship with the Benoit family. Linda McMahon's appearance on the O'Reilly Factor was actually in the form of an interview from 2002. Penny Durham was interviewed on FOX News' Big Story this afternoon about her husband's death, the Benoit tragedy and the drug problems in wrestling. Shawn Stasiak appeared on FOX News' Hannity and Colmes last night discussing WWE's drug testing, problems in wrestling and more.

Last night's ECW scored a 1.4 rating. WWE's Corporate site noted RAW, Smackdown and ECW were the most watched shows on their networks from May 21-July 8. There are Smackdown spoilers from last night's taping in New Orleans, LA. Smackdown will be pre-empted in several Pennsylvania and New York markets this week.

WWE cancelled their western Canada shows originally scheduled for this weekend after earlier postponing them due to the Benoit tragedy. Johnny Nitro will be taking Jerry Lawler's place in an OVW event appearance on July 20 with Lawler now scheduled for the next week. The word "smackdown" is being added to the next edition of Merriam-Webster's dictionary.

Jim Ross' BBQ restaurant opened today. Trish Stratus' latest TV show The Second City's Next Comedy Legend debuted last night.

Spike TV held a conference call with Traci Brooks discussing TNA, Victory Road, Gail Kim and more. The SHIMMER title will be defended at Ring of Honor's August 11 show in Philadelphia, PA. Lakeland, FL's The Ledger has articles on Kidz Pro-Wrestling and their benefit to raise money for the family of a woman who died in a car crash.
